Book Talk with Author Judy Birke

As the 88th anniversary of Kristallnacht approaches, we welcome author and art critic, Judy Birke to CMI to share her and her family’s story. Born in Hamburg, Germany in 1940, she made her way to America as a baby. Judy will share from her memoir, Catching Up With Myself: Memories & Musings, which tells the story of her family’s survival, emigration to the US, and experience as an immigrant. It is a universal story to which others can relate in our desire to survive, to be safe, to belong, to connect and participate, whether native born or immigrant.
