BMW Movie Night

Join us to see Crossing Delancy, starring Amy Irving (who we saw previously in Yentl) and Peter Riegert.  This movie (like Hester Street) takes place (mostly) in the Lower East Side of NYC and Joan Micklin Silver, who directed Hester Street, also directs this movie.  The movie asks what happened to Gitl’s grandchildren and great grandchildren as they moved uptown and (even worse) to Florida?  Should these secular Jews join mainstream culture or stick with the pickle man, the shul and the bris?  Notably, the film was hard to finance until Irving's husband at the time (Steven Spielberg!) stepped in.
