Shabbat Friday Night Service

  • Congregation Mishkan Israel 785 Ridge Road Hamden, CT, 06517 United States (map)

Join us for a very special Shabbat on May 29 as we celebrate the re-dedication of our beloved Bride’s Room as the newly named Simcha Room.

Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of Shirley Scholder, this cherished space has been beautifully refurbished and reimagined. Once known as the Bride’s Room, it has now been transformed into a warm, welcoming, and private מקום (place) for brides, grooms, and all who are celebrating simchot to prepare for their most meaningful moments. Her gift has truly given this room new life, and already two brides have had the opportunity to use and enjoy the renewed space.

We also extend our heartfelt thanks to Emma Machugh and Jody Dietch for their dedication and hard work in bringing this vision to fruition.

The evening will begin with a special Oneg at 5:30 PM, followed by Shabbat services from 6:00–7:00 PM, during which we will mark this meaningful re-dedication together as a community.

We warmly invite all who have ever been married at CMI to join us for this celebration. In honor of this occasion, we are also creating a scrapbook of memories from weddings at CMI throughout the years. We would love for you to share your stories, photos, or reflections. Please send submissions to Madeline Ravich at mcravich@gmail.com.

Come celebrate this beautiful milestone with us as we honor the past, celebrate the present, and create space for many future simchot.

We look forward to sharing this special Shabbat with you.
